After captivating the Vienna audience with the hypnotic Untitled (Holding Horizon), Alex Baczyński-Jenkins returns with a new choreography: Malign Junction (Goodbye, Berlin). Co-produced with IAM, the piece explores the theme of finitude. This dynamic dance navigates the tension between ecstatic boundary dissolution, fear, and dissociation—seeking to capture the ambivalent emotional experience of endings: both intense and remote.

The complexities of queer life, feelings of desire, and collectivity play a vital role in Baczyński-Jenkins’s artistic practice. Through choreographic methods, he explores the subtle nuances of interdependence and suspended time. His distinctive bodily language and minimalist visual presence, rooted in ephemeral gestures, construct a richly layered performance context.
