Culture Train as part of the series titled “Literature - A New Chapter”
11.02–16.02.2025
The Express Train Berlin-Poznań-Warsaw
City-Nature: Literature in the Culture Train as part of the Meetings with Authors Project within the framework of Unrast2 German-Polish Literary Forum (Warsaw – Berlin)
Those travelling on the Culture Train between Warsaw and Berlin will have a chance to participate in a meeting with a writer Tomasz Książek, author of the book titled “An Atlas of Holes and Cracks”. The conversation will be hosted by Dorota Danielewicz, a journalist and writer specialising in Polish-German topics. The meeting will focus on poetic and ecological deliberations as part of ecological thinking, targeted not only at rural space, but also studying nature in urban conglomerations. Indication of similarities between Warsaw and Berlin: both cities and their insects, birds and plants correspond with each other.
The Culture Train Berlin-Poznań-Warsaw – an event that will take place between 11 and 16 February 2025 – is a project aimed at strengthening cultural cooperation between the cities and creating room for dialogue on the Polish-German border. A specially designed culture carriage becomes a place for conversations, exchange of thoughts, and reflections. The Culture Train is a unique European pilot project financed by the Land of Berlin, initiated and implemented by Kulturprojekte Berlin. A multilingual programme onboard the Berlin-Warsaw Express has been prepared by a curatorial team responsible for the Culture Train Berlin-Wrocław project.
