Illustrator Urszula Palusińska's residency in Bologna to create a poster

25.02–01.03.2025

Anonima Impressori, Bologna, Italy

#Illustration

A collaboration with Officina Typo, Anonima Impressori, and Hamelin to create a poster using artistic printmaking techniques, as part of the program Hi! Picture this! Contemporary Illustration from Poland.

From the archives of old wooden and lead typefaces at Anonima Impressori comes the series Alfabeti Abitati – an illustrated movable typeface which this year enters into a dialogue with Polish illustration and the rich graphic tradition of the country.

How many forms can the letter "A" take? What can emerge from inside the "O"? And what hides behind the strokes of "E"? Infinite visual imaginations inspired by the shapes of letters bring to life small illustrated worlds. The diverse world of alphabets meets the world of images. Typeface shapes and illustrations coexist on the poster. The entire work will be created entirely by hand and released as a limited edition.

This unique artistic production will be created by Polish illustrator Ula Palusińska and marks the culmination of her artistic residency, during which she will work with the typefaces of Anonima Impressori and Officina Typo.
