As part of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2025, Bozar Centre for Fine Arts will host a series of events showcasing some of Poland's most inspiring creators. A standout among these will be a talk with Olga Tokarczuk, the Nobel Prize-winning author and one of the most acclaimed contemporary writers. On February 5, Tokarczuk will engage with the Brussels audience in the prestigious Henry Le Boeuf Hall, home to the Belgian National Orchestra. The event will center on her latest novel, The Empusium —her first release since receiving the Nobel Prize. Set in 1913, the novel is a captivating and enigmatic tale rich in literary allusions, offering a feminist counterpoint to The Magic Mountain.
The discussion will be moderated by Annelies Beck, a Belgian journalist, author, and passionate advocate for literature.
The discussion will be conducted in Polish with simultaneous translation into English and French, offering an international audience insight into the work of one of the greatest contemporary authors.
