Monodrama "Ocalone" by Agnieszka Przepiórska in Madrid

Agnieszka Przepiórska returns in a monodrama which meaning goes beyond the confines of the theater. This is a story about Irena K. from Opaczewska Street in Warsaw's Ochota district. As an elderly woman, eighty years after the terrible events, Irena regains her voice to testify to what happened in Zieleniak and its surroundings. A transit camp was organized there, managed by bloody hordes from the SS RONA unit. Their victims remember the officers as the most ruthless monsters [...]. Together with the heroine, we are back at Zieleniak...

Directed by Maja Kleczewska, "Ocalone" is a new piece in Agnieszka Przepiórska's one-woman theater. It's an accusation and a memory of those who have been lost. The spectacle ends with an shout-out of the fallen victims from Zieleniak. What's particularly shocking is we know very few of them by name. "Ocalone" brings the performance of Przepiórska's life, supported by Kleczewska's strong direction and Krzysztof Garbaczewski's extraordinary visualizations.
