Performance: "375 0908 2334. The body you are calling is currently not available" by Igor Shugaleev & Sergey Shabohin

The performance is a response to the harassment of protesters in Belarus. In the summer of 2020, the protests of Belarusian society came to a climax. The idea for this artistic voice arose from the protests against violence, with a hope to resist the prolonged stress and fear and to overcome the feeling of guilt in which Belarusians live nowadays – consciously or not. It is a kind of an invitation to put oneself in a position of being detained in Belarus, and to experience the violence which affects tens of thousands of civilians in that country, up to this day.

375 0908 2334:
375 – telephone code of the Republic of Belarus
0908 – is the date of the presidential elections. The spite and discontentment with the election results lead to a revolutionary protest movement which continues to this day.
2334 – is the number of the Administrative Code article “Violation of the procedure for organizing or holding mass events”, according to which more than 40 thousand Belarusians have been convicted since August 2020.

The 2025 edition of the Festival de Liège. Biennale Internationale des arts de la scène will be held under the theme “Pour que jamais ne l’importe la résignation”.
