The Ukrainian version of the podcast “Celluloid Solidarity – Contemporary Polish Filmmakers on Unity in Their Work” will be presented on June 24 during a special event at the “Oscar” cinema (Kyiv, Sportyvna Square, 1).
The event will feature a public discussion with invited speakers and a screening of the documentary The Soil by Polish director Zuzanna Solakiewicz, part of the Solidarity on Screen programme.
The discussion will explore creative approaches, the role of traditional culture in contemporary filmmaking, the podcast as a tool for promoting cinema, and the broader themes of solidarity and unity in film.
Speakers:
- Zuzanna Solakiewicz – an award-winning writer and director known for visually striking, thought-provoking films. She studied humanities in Warsaw and filmmaking in Jerusalem. 15 Corners of the World won Locarno’s Critics' Week Award. The Guest, co-directed with Zvika Portnoy, premiered at IDFA 2024, and won Best Cinematography.
- Alyona Tymoshenko – founder and director of the Ukrainian Film School, producer of the films Pamfir and Vitya.

- Inna Gordeeva – film critic, author of the Telegram channel “Netflix Holovnoho Mozku”, and host of the podcast “Dodivytys v kino”.
