Solidarity on Screen: The Polish Presidency Film Review in Munich

As part of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2025, Theatiner Film in Munich will screen six films from the Solidarity on Screen: The Polish Presidency Film Review program. One of Munich’s oldest and most prestigious art house cinemas, Theatiner Film has been a fixture of the city’s cultural scene since 1957. Nestled in the historic heart of Munich, the cinema is renowned for its focus on artistic and independent films, making it a key destination for film enthusiasts.
The February lineup includes titles such as Imago, Man of Iron, and Escape from the ‘Liberty’ Cinema. These films offer varied perspectives on solidarity, exploring both social and political themes. The Solidarity on Screen series will run in February and April 2025. On February 16, 2025, a special screening of Imago, directed by Olga Chajdas, will take place. This poignant story follows a young girl as she uncovers family secrets that reshape her understanding of identity, relationships, and freedom. Following the screening, a Q&A session with the filmmakers will offer the audience a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the film.
The April lineup includes titles such as The Balcony Movie, A Year on the Life of the Country, Three Colors: Red. These films offer varied perspectives on solidarity, exploring both social and political themes. The Solidarity on Screen series will run in February and April 2025.
