My pencil is full of thoughts – a meeting with the artist Magdalena Wosik
When coming up with imaginary scenes, motifs or arrangements, artists think with a pencil. This simplest tool helps in creating characters and elements of the pictured worlds. Magdalena Wosik will present her works - from sketches to final illustrations - and talk about her creative process. The artist will present her own books and illustrations which are part of Mariusz Szczygielski's best-selling series of children's publications.
In the kingdom of imagination: the release and present of Polish book illustrations for children - lecture with slides by Anita Wincencjusz-Patyna
Anita Wincencjusz-Patyna will give a richly illustrated lecture on the contemporary Polish books for children and teenagers in the context of national tradition. It will cover over a hundred years of history of Polish illustration - from the avant-garde projects by Franciszka and Stefan Themerson, through the period of the golden Polish School of Illustration in the 1950s-70s, to the contemporary Polish illustrators on the international arena.
