The Adam Mickiewicz Institute, in collaboration with Flagey and Jazz Danmark, presents an unforgettable jazz evening at Studio 4 in Flagey, Brussels. The Tomasz Stańko Experience – Scandinavian Art Ensemble is a jazz group composed of musicians from Poland, Denmark, Norway, Finland, and Iceland. Ten years ago, the musicians first met during summer workshops at the JazzDanmark festival, where they worked with the outstanding Polish trumpeter Tomasz Stańko. Their collaboration proved so creatively fruitful that it led to further concerts, and the ensemble has maintained its identity over the years—even after Stańko’s passing in 2018.

The ensemble includes:

  • Tomasz Dąbrowski – trumpet (bandleader)
  • Artur Tuźnik – piano
  • Martin Fabricius – vibraphone
  • Johanna Sulkunen – vocals
  • Richard Andersson – double bass
  • Radosław Wośko – drums
  • Snorri Sigurdarson – trumpet
  • Thomas Hass Christensen – saxophone

The group, led by Tomasz Dąbrowski, will perform both original compositions and pieces by Tomasz Stańko, celebrating his profound influence on contemporary jazz.

Support act will be performed by O.N.E - the all-female quartet known for its electrifying live sets featuring Monika Muc (saxophone), Kamila Drabek (double bass), Patrycja Wybrańczyk (drums) and Kateryna Ziabliuk (piano).

This unique collaboration promises a night of exceptional music, blending Scandinavian artistry with Polish jazz heritage.
